Pictures

I've been a horrible blogger lately. Life just gets so busy sometimes!

Slowly making progress on my guest room. The room is looking very bare and I have a lot of finishing touches to add yet.

Here's the desk.....I freaked out on the distressing and had my husband help me. Not sure that I love it yet, but maybe it will grow on me? I'm still in search of the perfect knobs. (Anyone have any suggestions of where to look?)

I also decided to spray paint this and use as a nightstand.

So there you have it! That's where it stands as of now. I have lots ideas for this room and am continually working on it so I'll be sure to update as it progresses!

The room is coming together nicely, I like the color scheme. That was a good idea to paint the shelves and use it as a nightstand, it looks really cute. You're doing great!

Hi Tara!

Your room is looking really lovely! Good job on the desk, though you could still distress it more around the edges ;)

Keep going... Throw a stack of little books, covered in blue and green papers, on your little bedside table. or maybe a little vase of silk flowers. Greenery always brings a room to life.

Try Restoration Hardware for knobs:

I suggest the glass, crystal or white ones. Yes they are expensive, but you only need a few.

Have fun - and keep sharing those updates!

Do you have a THEME for the room? Like flowers or butterflies? If so, try looking for knobs with those painted on them or in the shape of them. Something to take away from the plainness of the desk. I agree that you need to distress it more like around the edges. You can find knobs at Lowe's or Home Depot. Something cute like these designed for a kid's room... Lowe's Bedtime Butterfly

Looking good! I especially like the unusual nightstand. I recently re-did our guest bedroom, and added a few quirky touches, too!

Great vision on the bookshelves! They turned out so nicely as a nightstand for your bed.

I think glass knobs would look great on your desk. I used some pink ones from Land of Nod in my girls' bathrooms, but they also come in clear. http://tinyurl.com/5akaub

Love that you painted the shelves. Try looking on Etsy.com! It is one of my new favorite places to shop. Great homemade stuff at great prices. I would suggest a great dark contrasting color for your knobs...something that pops (black, red, blue) whatever suits your personality.

Everything looks great! And don't feel bad about the blogging. I've been attacked by Real Life myself the last few weeks.

On the knobs for the drawers, when we moved into our current home the previous owner had put the cutest little knobs in one of the kids' bathrooms. They are little soaps and toothpaste and toothbrush. SO cute. I went looking for more and found lots of neat things (no particular sites for you, but just run a google search for drawer knobs and pulls for the style you want). Very cool stuff out there!
